Henry Ford’s Big Idea

Until Henry Ford decided that the passenger seat should be on the right, cars had drivers sitting there. Ford’s reasoning was that ladies would appreciate being able to step directly out of the Model T and onto the sidewalk, and since the Model T was ubiquitous, that seating arrangement quickly took off in America, too. Leading to a hundred years of awkward driving from ex pats in Europe.
