Boulevard of Broken Dreams Part XIII

ann-margret2Like Truman Capote’s Mr. Revercomb in short story “Master Misery,” I will buy your dreams. This just in…

“Last night I dreamed that Mia and I were getting hot dogs, and she ordered hers with oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, and onions, and I thought that sounded so good. The credit card machines weren’t working, so she paid with cash. And then I ordered two of them, and they were just massive. And while Mia’s came to $4 (she gave the cashier a $5), mine came to $20 because I ordered them with buns and that made it more expensive. While we were waiting, I told her about a dream I’d had involving Ann-Margret, and tried to do an Ann-Margret impression. Both Mia and the cashier said it was a really good impression, but I knew better.”
