Bette Davis, Mother of the Bride

Oh dear. We’re dragging through the dregs of Bette Davis’s album here. It was either “Mother of the Bride” (with a lengthy spoken-word section) or her misguided and embarrassing recreation of a monologue from All About Eve, 16 years after the fact. So be thankful for small favors, even when she gets to the end of her second spoken-word section and does a bizarre impression of a teenaged girl.

Now, all of you promise to be very good or I’ll start posting videos of Katharine Hepburn’s songs from the Broadway musical Coco. Or worse, I’ll record myself doing them in a flawless Hepburn impression.
