Real Talk, in which I explain why we say weird things like “plugged nickel” or “cat’s pajamas.” Also, a place where I can send my boyfriend when he asks the meaning of weird phrases like “plugged nickel” or “cat’s pajamas.”“I really flew off the handle, screaming at my computer after working from home for a week.”

As it turns out, “flying off the handle” is a pretty simple expression. It refers to the ease with which axe heads would fly off their handles. So… not a lot to it, right? Also, that sounds extremely dangerous.
