I Can’t Get That Monster Out of My Head

This Coronet film about “Moral Maturity” and just saying no is pretty bizarre overall. The Brechtian staging? That hot host, who inspires feelings of… well, not no. But Lucy is the breakout star for us. At 6:30, she brings up the problem of “boys,” and she sounds almost hysterical when, off-screen, she talks about “their hands!” If this were a different genre, she’s exactly the type of teenage girl who would inspire a poltergeist.

  1. Don’t you wish there had actually been a group of socially anxious weenies in high school who got together and discussed peer pressure scenarios?
