Biding Time During ‘You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling’

When it came time to perform “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling,” one half of The Righteous Brothers—the one without the deep voice—wasn’t thrilled that he didn’t come in until the chorus. “What am I supposed to do during that solo?” he whined to Phil Spector. “You can go straight to the fucking bank,” Phil Spector replied.

Did you know that it was the most played song of the 20th century? (I’m partial to the Lee Hazlewood-Nancy Sinatra cover myself.) Did you know Glenn Campbell was a session guitarist for the recording? Or that Cher sang backup? I didn’t know any of it!
